The forecast for Wednesday was for close to 2 inches of rain but we were spared this time with a nice & slow all day rain event. While we did lose some work on the course; the rain did help us from a turf recovery stand point & served great benefits following the application of fertilizer on the fairways Tuesday morning.

Glad we avoided the weekly flood scenario |

Fertilizer truck application to fairways |
Recovery has really taken off the past 2 weeks as we inch our way closer to normal playing conditions. The dimple tine/seeding of greens last Thursday has already produced seed germination as the little guys & girls are off and running.

Seed germination in the dimple tine holes |
We are still lagging behind on the more severely ice damaged greens such as #7 but all in all we are close to the finish line with recovery on greens.

1-2 weeks away and the recovery of 3 green will be a memory |

10 green looking much improved |
The new tees were opened today and will provide a great enhancement to the course.

10 tee open for business |

12 tee holding up well to the attack by the golfer |
The course is really taking shape and the next 2 weeks will be all about catching up on the detail work that makes Idlewild shine. As long as Mother Nature keeps playing nice....we should see things back to normal sooner rather than later. As turf conditions return to normal, turf conditioning will return which brings improved playability. I so much look forward to meeting the expectation that I set for myself & the course. Enjoy the course as it begins to shine & the ideal weather!
